Exploration geochemistry is a kind of method for ore prospecting by studying the distribution, dispersion and concentration of the elements in geological bodies, finding, interpretating and evaluating anomalies, and then delineating the prospecting target areas, which is a very intuitive, high efficiency methods of solid mineral exploration and have sound effect in prospecting. The determination of the geochemical element anomaly threshold is the key to the question need to solve in the exploration geochemistry, which is also the key link to decide the success or failure of the application on mineral exploration.This paper took Wurinitu W-Mo deposit in inner Mongolia as example, collected related data on processing methods of geochemical exploration and geological data in the study area, recommend and analyse two fixed value anomaly threshold study methods: the average standard deviation method and tired frequency method, three kinds of variable value anomaly threshold methods: contrast method, trend surface analysis method and empirical equation method, and made insight into the geological characteristics in the study area. On the basics of the 1:200000 regional stream sediment geochemical exploration data in the study area, determined the anomaly threshold of 11 kinds of elements, and made the maps of element anomaly, then studied the geochemical anomal features combined with the geological features of mine area. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Fixed value anomaly threshold methods only highlighted the high data background. Variable value anomaly thresholds could retain strong exception information and effectively identify the background of the new anomaly. It could strengthen weak anomaly, weaken the part area of abnormal high background, accord with the changing trend of geochemical background, and reflect the change of threshold of advantage. Fixed value anomaly threshold methods are suitable for the study of local small scale. And variable value anomaly thresholds are suitable for complicated geological background on a wide range.(2) Wurinitu W-Mo deposit mainly hosts in the outer contact zone of O1-2W2 and granite porphyry. It is controlled by North East trending fault structure. The ore bodies appear in bedded, veined. The overall trend of the ore bodis are north east direction. They are not exposed, and belong to the concealed ore deposit. Hydrothermal alteration is strong. The ore minerals are scheelite, wolframite and mainly fine granular texture and fine vein structure.(3) Combined with the geological features of the research area, the advantages and disadvantages of each geochemical exploration method are studied and analyzed. Finally verify that the contrast method is the optimize one for the geochemical data processing.(4) The deposit is a concealed deposit and its surrounding weathering degree is the strongest. Large area of low temperature ore-forming elements Sb, Ag, As anomalies are distributed around the deposit, which show the low temperature metallogenic element anomalies for W orebody charateristics of dizziness. The three elements can be used as the leading indicator elements of tungsten ore.
