Fluorescence imaging technology has good selectivity and high sensitivity. In recent years, it has attracted more and more attention and has been widely used in various fields of biological, environmental, medical and others. Because of the fluorescent stability and low toxicity,molecular fluorescent probes and fluorescent nano-materials are used for biological imaging. Therefore, we synthesized several fluorescent probes to study their applications in biological analysis. The main contents were summarized as follows:(1) In this work, a novel fluorescent probe with high selectivity has been developed for live cell imaging of cysteine(Cys). The probe is demonstrated to have excellent biocompatibility, high intracellular delivery efficiency, and stability. Cell cytotoxicity and bio-imaging studies revealed that probe was cell-permeable and could be used to detect Cys in living cell with low cytotoxicity.(2) A novel fluorescent probe with high selectivity has been developed for live cell imaging of cysteine(Cys),homocysteine(Hcy) and Glutathione(GSH). The probe is demonstrated to have excellent biocompatibility, high intracellular delivery efficiency, and stability for observations. Cell cytotoxicity and bio-imaging studies revealed that probe was cell-permeable and could be used to detect Cys with low cytotoxicity. The development and application of thiol group of small biological molecules in the cells not only has influence to visual detection, but also has some significance for the detection and treatment of cancer.(3) A novel amino surface-rich silicon quantum dots(Si QDs) have been synthesized and modified with polyethylenimine(PEI). The new PEI modified SiQDs(PEI-SiQDs) were used as prominent imaging agents for cell imaging. The experimental result suggested that PEI-SiQDs exhibit excellent biocompatibility, high intracellular delivery efficiency, and stability.
