Huomatu tectonic zone is located in the middle part of southern margin of the Junggar basin with a gross area of 24000km2. It is adjacent to Tianshan mountains in the south, belonged to the secondary tectonic units of thrust belt in Southern piedmont.and formed in the Mesozoic - Cenozoic because of Xishan movement. Through The third Resource evaluation we know, the resources in the southern margin of the Junggar basin are very rich, which have a big exploration potential. And it is the The main Oil and gas supply of our country. Since the last century to now, It attract a lot of Scholars at home and abroad to inspection and exploration Petroleum because of its Complete outcrops various structural styles and rich oil-gas seepages. The exploration history proved that there is abundant hydrocarbon resource in the south of Junggar basin, But the multistage tectonic movement made the reservoir characteristics, and reservoir-forming condition more complex, oil and gas exploration in the study area has great challenges. In order to promote the development of oil - gas exploration and explore the new scope in petroleum exploration.in the south of Junggar basin, Urgent need to strengthen the oil and gas accumulation process reservoir and clarify the hydrocarbon accumulation pattern and forming dynamic system. Last, clear the exploration targets.Considering the current exploration results, This paper is attempt to summarizes、 digestion and absorption the predecessors research results and literature material. Then taking advantage of existing seismic, drilling, logging data and various analytical laboratory data, with the use of the theories and methods of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, petroleum geology and other disciplines. This passage focus on studies and analysis the conditions of hydrocarbon accumulation and hydrocarbon accumulation process, Through analysis of source rock, reservoirs, reservoir-seal assemblage, traps and carrier systems., Combining dissection of representative wells, we clarify the hydrocarbon accumulation process of the south of Junggar basin and get the main controlling factors, summed up the oil and gas accumulation mode, then pointed out the favourable exploration areas and target. Through the present study, some realizations on above comprehensive analysis are concluded:1) Source rocks are widely developed in the study area, The Upper and Mid-Lower Jurassic source rocks and the Lower Cretaceous source rock are the effective hydrocarbon source rocks which have a high hydrocarbon potential because of their good organic type、high content of organism and maturity、large thickness. In addition, the hydrocarbon generation center is located in the study area, their provide a rich oil and gas resources to the study area.2) Through the dissection of representative reservoir,we know that that it developed three passage system including connected sand body, fault and unconformity. The analysis of the migration system reveals that hydrocarbons in the Huomatu tectonic zone migrate through faults and fractures which are the main pathways and decides whether the oil and gas can accumulation and the amount of hydrocarbon.3) Oil-gas has two filling period, the first period was from early Miocene to late Miocene(12 Ma-9Ma),cretaceous’low-mature oil filling and formed primary petroleum accumulation which distributed in the second structural belt; The second filling was from late Miocene to Quaternary (5 Ma-2Ma), is the gas-oil Mixed filling of The Jurassic and The cretaceous, This stage is the key period for hydrocarbon accumulation. and Widely distributed in the Huomatu tectonic zone.4) Research summary, there are three types of hydrocarbon accumulation in the study area:type of Anjihai、type of Huomatu and Hutubi. This three models are lower product and upside reservoir migrates vertically. Among them, The type of Anjihai is single-sourced and single- phase accumulation model; The type of Huomatu for mixing source、oil filled first、two stages of petroleum accumulation, which along with gas washing; The type of Hutubi formed by mixing source and have single- phase accumulation.5) Comprehensive evaluation, The study area have three exploration potentials. The the most favorable exploration targets are:The Donggou group of Anjihai-Huomatu tectonic belt, Ziniquanzi group of Manasi tectonic belt Anjihai group of Anjihai tectonic belt.
