The study uses method of morphological classification of plant taxonomy, combined with karyotypeanalysis studys deciduous groups of Elaeagnus L. in Xinjiang area by means of taxonomic methods. Fromsix areas of Xinjiang,a total of231seed samples were compared to observe. According to themorphological and cytological studies of the results, plants of Elaeagnus L.in Xinjiang area are dividedinto eight cultivated varieties. Specific conclusions are as follows:(1)The conditions used for defining varieties in Elaeagnus L. needs to be expanded. Thelongitudinal diameter of stone of E.moorcrofiii Wall.ex Schlecht.in 《Flora in Deserts》is defined as1.50-1.80cm,while the actual survey found that part of E.moorcrofiii Wall.ex Schlecht. plant’slongitudinal diameter of stone does not satisfy the condition.(2)Elaeagnus L. is rich in plant phenotypic traits. The average value of the Shannon index of6quality traits is1.23, the highest is1.72,the lowest is0.98;. The mean value of Simpson index is0.53,thehighest is Covered scales,up to0.67,the lowest in the Stamens&stigma in contrast,up to0.39.Thequantitative characters of Elaeagnus L. have some certain variation.the variation on Grain weight of fruitand stone is relatively large. In conclusion, the qualitative traits and quantitative traits of Elaeagnus L. haveabundant variation.(3)There are plants be similar to Elaeagnus L. in gathered groups, simply on the basis ofmorphological classification can’t judge the species,we should combine with cytological identification.(4)The Elaeagnus L. plants can be divided into eight cultivated varieties. Through verification wefound that the first four are E.oxycarpa Schlecht.,the latter four are E.moorcroftii Wall.exSchlecht..Through principal component analysis, selection of longitudinal diameter of fruit and stone,Grain weight of fruit and stone, and fruit shape index were influential characters as the classification basis. The transition feature already exists between cultivated varieties in Elaeagnus L.(5)There is difference among grain weight of fruit during Cultivated Varieties.The1st Cultivatedvarietie’s1000grain weight was between245.00g and391.00g,the average is315.76g;The2nd cultivatedvarietie’s1000grain weight was between99.00g and244.00g, the average is182.57g;The3rd cultivatedvarietie’s1000grain weight was between398.00g and562.00g, the average is466.76g;The4th cultivatedvarietie’s1000grain weight was between561.00g and767.00g, the average is643.18g;The5th cultivatedvarietie’s1000grain weight was between1282.00g and1392.00g, the average is1346.60g;The6thcultivated varietie’s1000grain weight was between1404.00g and1562.00g, the average is1692.69g;The7th cultivated varietie’s1000grain weight was between1005.00g and1234.00g, the average is1140.45g;The8th cultivated varietie’s1000grain weight between806.00g-960.00g, average is879.33g.(6)The relative length of eight Cultivated Varieties of chromosomes are different;Asymmetricalkaryotype coefficient in Elaeagnus L. differences of plant species showed different, the first four levels areclose, the latter four are similar. In general, according to the karyotype differences,we can see thatInfra-species in the genus Elaeagnus L. species may have been generated.(7)Part of cultivated varieties exists chromosomes satellite.the1st,3rdand6th cultivated varietieshave chromosomes satellite.(8)E.oxycarpa Schlecht.relative E.moorcrofiii Wall.ex Schlecht.is more primitive species. Thekaryotype evolution from symmetric to asymmetric. Asymmetrical karyotype coefficient the1st,2nd,3rdand4th cultivated varieties respectively67.55%,65.64%,66.65%and67.25%;and the latter four cultivatedvarieties of asymmetrical karyotype coefficient is67.99%,68.65%,68.95%and67.70%relative to the firstfour higher.
