Due to the curvature of the earth, the terrain obstacles and blind area between lobes, there are a lot of certain blind spot detection of the new generation Doppler weather radar. And the resolution of CINRAD is limited by the beam width and bandwidth of the radar. The X-band weather radar is easy to use and fully functional with low cost and small size. And the X-band weather radar observes the small-scale convective clouds more clearly, which is a good complement to the new generation of weather radar network.Radar calibration shall be frequently done because of the change of the receiver transfer characteristic with time. The conventional calibration method is not suitable for frequently use because it require a long time, thus impairing the normal observation, and the expense is also very high. In order to overcome the radar echo intensity’s error caused by variations of weather radar receiver’s parameters, on the basis of basic principles of echo intensity calibration of weather radar, this article discusses the new methods of NuistRD-X weather radar’s calibration by using CINRAD-SA weather radar echo intensity data. The primary advantage to this approach is the simplicity to carry out and also lower the cost of calibration.In order to get more comprehensive without missing radar data this paper also puts forward a new method for radar data reception. This method has the advantage of its non destruction, non block and high speed in data gathering, which can enhance the efficiency and shorten the time of data processing. In this way, a computer can simultaneous capture different radar packets through different network adapter, which provides a new design ideas and methods for one computer processing several instruments at same time.With the environment attenuation factor the wavelet attenuation correction of the X-band weather radar is realized. The image was displayed on a color monitor. It is able to do secondary development and function expanding.
