Field data collection is an important part of the investigation of groundwater resources, with the promoting of information technology, field data collection has been transforming from the traditional manual acquisition mode to the informatization mode gradually, which can avoid some disadvantages of the traditional manual way on field data recording, data filtering, entering into the database for unified management.DGSGIS (digital geology survey of geology information system) is a digital geological survey system developed by the China Geological Survey Development Research Center, which has the specific design according to the need of digital geological survey application, combined with the others, the product is complete and the function is much stable, it can be used on geological survey in different scale as well. DGSGIS make it come true of digital process on the geological survey, and the regional geological survey result and social benefits are conspicuous. We can test whether the DGSGIS platform could satisfy the requirement during the development of field data collection desktop system on groundwater resources investigation based on DGSGIS thus coming up with suggestions on one hand, on the other hand, as underlying platform, DGSGIS is specialized and can create public benefits, which make it convenient to spread the field data collection system on the investigation of groundwater resources.The field data collection desktop system on groundwater resources investigation based on DGSGIS is developed on" Technical Requirements of Evaluation and Survey on National Groundwater Resource and Environment Problems "and" Database Standard of Regional Groundwater Resources Investigation ". It’s mainly used in data preparation, data management and actual material mapping on groundwater resources field investigation. It is the system that makes the realization of data management, layer data browse and query, attribute data output and thematic mapping on groundwater resources field investigation database. The main content of the paper is:1. Introduce the research status of field geological data collection information at home and abroad, mainly analysis the research achievements in the groundwater investigation field.2. Make fully comprehensive demand analysis according to the hydrogeology investigation progress and the application function of desktop system, then determine the overall design scheme, complete the system data analysis, interface design, database design, functional design, environmental design, etc. during the development, make the details of function design combined the completed software with the development result of DGSGIS functional interface and the work progress at present, then determine the specific development function at last.3. The research content, work process and system structure involves in the system development.4. Combined with the condition of DGSGIS secondary development interface, make it specific that the development functions are display graphic data, retrieval graphics data, generate point according to the attribute table, export Excel of the layer attribute, and test DGSGIS secondary development interface in the development process.5. Using north China plain geographic base map and groundwater resources field investigation data as an example to make tentative validation of system function, including the summary of application effect on DGSGIS platform, and put forward Suggestions for improvement.6. To summarize research achievements and existing problems, and provide the basis for the following work.
