Yaoyingtai region is located in the raised belt of Changling Fault in the south of SongliaoBasin. Changling Fault has the rich oil and gas resources, the relatively low level of exploration,a large oil and gas exploration potential. This article integrate the Yaoyingtai area’s andsurrounding areas’ drilling core, logging data and various geological resources, based on thesedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, ancient geography theories and methods, we study thesequence division, the type and distributing of sedimentary facies, the sand distribution andother aspects. Through this study, we have a deeper understanding of sedimentary features ofDenglouku Formation and the First Section of Quantou Formation in Yaoyingtai area.By identifying and tracking the earthquake interface, using cycle control, lithologymutation and other methods, we identify the top and bottom interface position of the second, third, and fourth section of Denglouku Formation and the first section of Quantou Formation. At last, we establish the stratigraphic framework of the region’s target layer. On the basis of the drilling core features of macroscopic and microscopic description, through the analyzing of the petrology features, sedimentary structure characteristics andlogging date facies, we summe up with the identification of sedimentary facies in the ResearchArea. The sedimentary facies identification and classification has been proposed at last.By identifying the signs of sedimentary facies, we found the Denglouku Formation and thefirst section of Quantou Formation develop braided deltas and less lake sediments. Braideddelta has delta plain and delta front facies, lakes has shallow lake period. Shallow lake period ismainly developed in second sections of Denglouku Formation in YaoShen two well.On the basis of map analysis of the sandstone thickness and the ratio of sandstone in theformation, through the combination of the tectonic evolution of the region to determine thesecond section of Denglouku Formation provenance from southeastern, the third section ofDenglouku Formation provenance from the southwest, the foruth section of DengloukuFormation provenance mainly from the southwest, the first section of Quantou Formationdeveloped three period springs from south to north almost parallel to the river. Finally the distribution and evolution of sedimentary facies of Denglouku Formation and the first sectionof Quantou Formation in Yaoyingtai area have been recovered.
