In order to understand the distribution and diversity of insects in Tianzhu, there were 1175 insect samples in Tianzhu by using the methods of line transect. These insect samples belonged to 10 orders, 41 families,121 species. There were total 6 orders, 17 families, 35 species in Huazangsi; 7 orders, 29 families, 64 species in Xiamalinchang; 6 orders,23 families, 46 species in Xiaosanxia; 5 orders, 10 families, 20 species in Duoshi; 5 orders, 10 families, 15 species in Wushaoling; 5 orders, 10 families, 18 species in Zhuaxixiulong; 4 orders, 6 families, 9 species in Mayaxueshan; 5 orders, 9 families, 14 species in Haxi; 6 orders, 13 families, 33 species in Maozang; 4 orders, 8 families, 23 species in Qilian and 5 orders, 10 families, 22 species in Danma. There were 20 species of Pieridae, 6 species of Satyridae, 12 species of Nymohalidae in Tianzhu, were the dominant groups; 5 species of Carabidae, 6 species of Coccinellidae, 5 species of Oedipodidae, 5species of Syrphidae, 5 species of Lycaenidae, were the secondary dominant groups; The rare groups were Cicindelidae, Cerambycidae,Cetoniidae, Meloidae, Chrysomelidae, Cantharidae, Curculionidae,Elateridae, Hydrophilidae, Pentatomidae, Cicadidae, Pamphagidae,Tettigoniida, Campodeidea, Aslidae, Bibionidae, Tachinidae,Anthophoridae, Sphecidae, Siricidae, Libellulidae, Coenagrionidae,Myrmeleontidae. The α-diversity analysis and β-diversity analysis of insects of Tianzhu showed that the species diversity of Xiamalinchang was the highest, and the species diversity of Mayaxueshan was the lowest. As indicated by the results, the differences of ecological types are greater, and the similarity between sampling sites is lower. Altitude and ecological types are main factors affecting the distribution of insect species.Butterflies investigated in this area respectively belonged to 5families, 33 genera, 57 species. There were 4 species, 1 genus ofParnassidae, 20 species, 6 genera of Pieridae, 16 species, 12 genera of Satyridae, 12 species, 10 genera of Nymphalidae, 5 species, 4 genera of Lycaenidae. The most specie were Parnassidae, were the dominant groups in this area, which took up 35.09% of the total butterfly species number. There were 16 species of Satyridae and 12 species of Nymohalidae, which respectively took up 28.07% and 21.05%,were the secondary dominant groups. The analysis of butterfly faunal and composition suggested that there were 13 species of both Palaearctic realm and Oriental realm, which took up 22.81% of the total species number; 44 species Palaearctic realm and the number of the species Pieridae took up 77.19% of the total species number.
