Landslide is a common geological disasters, especially for our country where there are so many mountains and that it can cause great loss of life and property frequently.Dabie Mountain Area in Anhui province is a landslide prone areas. Studying on the distribution regularity of landslides and doing risk assessment of typical landslides are of great significance. In the face of a large number of data of the landslide, using the GIS platform to build a database is a suitable way. This paper enters the hazard point distribution and disaster characteristics into the database and establish the corresponding attribute database, on the basis of achieving Dabie mountain landslide geological disaster point cards and administrative divisions of the graphics database. It will statistics and show the development and distribution rules about the geological landslide disasters in the Dabie Mountain area. And then it will analysis of the landslide formation conditions and influencing factors. After that, the paper will setup a risk assessment model of single landslide. It can calculate the degree of danger and the degree of harm by using the related parameters of the landslide, and proceed to the next step it will make a comment. On the basis of having a model, I will use the Visual Basic development tools for secondary development in the MapGIS platform, to achieve a single landslide risk assessment module which when you input some parameters it can calculate the risk degree and harm degree automatically. And then it will make a simple evaluation. These parameters include the landslide stability, the slope deformation stage, landslide thickness, lithologic structure, the value of the threatened property and so on. At last, I use the related components in the MapGIS platform to call out the graphics files and display the corresponding attribute in the VB development environment. And it can connect the evaluation module and the database. In conclusion, this paper has a certain practical value.
