With a rapid development of economic in the 21 st century, rapid changes have occured in people’s modern life and also the industrial production is more and more large scale, oil has become essential living resources in people’s daily life. For modern industrial production processing equipment, oil also has become a necessary energy material. Now for exploration of oil resources, we mainly adopt a principle of different medium with different physical properties. It already has a long history about the testing principle of electric parameters of various materials. For electric parameter test methods, the electromagnetic modeling has different levels of theories, different solving ways of equations and different accuracy of test instruments. They have common important effects on the development of electric parameter measurement technology. This paper emphatically analyses the measuring principle of coaxial probe. In this test system, open coaxial probe is a sensor and has a features of ultra-wideband. It can be widely used in electric parameter test of various kinds of dielectric materials. With the rapid development of testing technology, coaxial probe testing technology has higher and higher scientific research value and practical space for development.During the borehole radar detection, the dielectric permittivity setted is directly related to the accuracy of the detection depth. Within different regions or engineering, the relative dielectric constant(r?) of media is often quite different. The r? is a dynamic parameter, even in the same medium, The relative dielectric constant is also different because of the differences of the materials’ structures and the physical environment. So in practice, we must adjust measures to local conditions to take measure the dielectric permittivity of the sample locally. For most of the scientific research and production units, it is infeasible that directly using the dielectric constant tester to accurately measure the relative dielectric constant of the sample in the lab, because they have not reached the test conditions so far.This thesis mainly carries out research on the testing system of dielectric constant of the rock in borehole radar system. Firstly, according to the existing microwave testing principle, we will respectively introduce the existing measuring methods about materials electric parameter, summarize and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various test methods. Secondly,this paper emphatically studies the basic principle of coaxial probe measurement technique, including the development and the status of the physical model and theory model. And according to the spectral domain quasi static model algorithm, we design of a software interface with the help of the Matlab software. Thirdly, we set up a platform test system,through the electromagnetic simulation, formula derivation, coding and sample measurement in turn under the condition of laboratory, based on the electromagnetic simulation tool of CST. Finally, comparing with the existing electric parameter datas of Agilent computer, we finally get the measurement results that meet error precisions. It can meet the borehole radar for obtaining the oil position underground by measuring the electrical parameters of rock samples, having a vital significance for microwave remote sensing.
