The Hunan Baoshan area is located in the northern margin of the middle part of Nanling EW tectonic magmatic metallogenic belt,which is of the geochemical block of Nanling highly concentrated tungsten tin molybdenum and bismuth copper lead zinc silver, iron and manganese and other elements, and it’s an important part of the Nanling polymetallic metallogenic belt.In this paper, through the statistics of geochemical parameters of 1:5 000 stream sediment geochemical surveying data in Hunan Baoshan area, applying correlation analysis, R cluster analysis, factor analysis to analyze intergrowth combination characteristics of elements; an analytical evaluation of the geological background of the single element geochemical anomalies, and comprehensive anomalous area was made; combined comprehensively analyzing tregional geological, mineral, geophysical, geochemical characteristics, to evaluate geochemical anomalies, to delineat ore prospecting target area, and so obtaine the f ollowing understanding:1.Baoshan area of outcropping strata are mainly Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, and experienced Caledonian, Hercynian movement, Indosinian movement, Yanshan movement, Himalayan movement and so many times of tectonic activity. Magmatite exposed area is not large, but the exposed Magmatite is of small scale and of great quantiy which reaches more than 110, and the outcropped lithology is mainly of early Yanshan acid or medium acid granite, diorite, quartz porphyry etc.2. The overall correlation between elements in the study area is relatively good, and the strongest correlation is Pb to Ag, Zn, Bi, and Cu to Zn, of which the correlation coefficient is greater than 0.8, which is a strong positive correlation. The following elements are Au, W, Sn, Sb, As, Ni, V, Co, Cr, Mn etc.,of which the correlation coefficient is between 0.5-0.8, which is a also a positive correlation. While F, La,Hg have low correlation or even negative correlation with other elements.3.By the analysis of geochemical characteristics of 19 kinds of elements, we have delineated 38 single element anomaly, and based on single element anomalies we delineated, 8 integrated anomaly, which contain 1 A1 class anomaly, 2 A2 class anomalies, and 5 B3 class anomalies. Anomalie s have higher coincide degree with the known ore(bed) point, providing a lot of information for mineral prospecting.Through the analysis of region formation, lithology, structure, magmatite, geophysical, geochemical and other aspects of the ore controlli ng factors, and treat the Baoshan Pb Zn Ag polymetallic deposit as a typical deposit in the area, we established the prospecting model, and put forward the prospecting marks, and delineated the Maiziping-Jinzigang-Wutong lead-zinc polymetallic prospecting target area and Hemaocun-Maanling lead-zinc polymetallic prospecting target area, in order to provide meaningful help.for looking for lead-zinc polymetallic deposit in the area in the next step.
