As an important quantum correlation, quantum entanglement is the key of quantuminformation theory. Quantum entanglement has many meaningful applications such as:quantum teleportation, quantum communication, quantum computation.w Recent yearsa series of research show that there are another important quantum correlations besidesquantum entanglement, for example: quantum discord and one way quantum deficit. Inthis dissertation we mainly study the quantum discord and one way quantum deficit of aspecial class quantum states.The structure of the dissertation is as follows:In Chapter 1, we give the research background of this dissertation and the main workof the dissertation.In Chapter 2, we briefly introduce the elementary concepts which we will use in thedissertation, such as: linear algebra, postulates of quantum mechanics, density operators,quantum entanglement, and the concepts of entropy and mutual information in classicalinformation theory.In Chapter 3, we first introduce the quantum discord of two-qubit states and recallthe result about the quantum discord of Bell diagonal state. Then we study the quantumdiscord for a special class quantum states and give the analytic form.In Chapter 4, we first introduce the one way quantum deficit of two-qubit states andrecall the result about the one way quantum deficit of Bell diagonal state. Then we studythe one way quantum deficit for a special class quantum states and give the analytic form.Finally, we study the one way deficit of the X-shape quantum states.
