This paper is based on the project, "Manganese deposits exploration of Carpentaria tenement in Northern Territory about SINOSTEEL". On the basis of multiple geo-information data as the foundation, such as : geological, remote sensing, gravity, aeromagnetic, airborne gamma spectra,VTEM. The general thoughts are:“data collection, processing, database construction-ore-forming elements extraction—abnormal information extraction—manganese deposits prospecting target analysis”. The author makes use of GIS technology to process and analyze comprehensively the multiple Geo-information data, and search for information about digging mine from many approaches, building all kinds of geological data layer, and system integration, to establish " multivariate geoinformation thematic GIS system in Carpentaria tenement ", as to develop manganese deposits prospecting target analysis of Carpentaria tenement in Northern Territory.1. Building "multivariate geological information thematic GIS system in Carpentaria tenement", the system includes a field geological investigation thematic layer, 2 Mn deposits(occurrences) thematic layer, 1 tenement thematic layer, 2 sheet index mapping thematic layer, 3 drilling data thematic layer,8 geological thematic layer, 2 gravity thematic layer, 18 aeromagnetic thematic layer, 12 airborne gamma spectra thematic layer, 20 remote sensing thematic layer, 200 VTEM data thematic layer, these are as the region geological thematic mapping, and the multivariate information fusion analysis laid a solid foundation.2. According to Carpentaria tenement exploration data analysis, the region does not exist the cretaceous shallow platform-lagoon facies sedimentary formation, corresponding strata characterized by terrestrial fluvial facies, unfavorable to Groote Eylandt sedimentary manganese deposits as the main exploration type of this area.3. Regional geological evolution and drilling data analysis, the results showed that theregion is proterozoic Roper group of clastic rock, and Karns dolomite has found some is related to its interface and controlled by contemporaneous fault of epithermal type manganese, should refer to the types of the typical representative--Woodie Woodie manganese deposit in western Australia as analysis and exploration.4. On the basis of the study, to extract geology, drilling, magnetic, airborne gamma spectra, remote sensing, VTEM multivariate geological anomaly information, carrying out prospecting stage of " Carpentaria tenement multiple geological information processing and integration analysis in Australia’s Northern Territory ".5. Comprehensive analysis of multivariate geological anomaly information, high manganese mineralization mining area is located in the edge of the gravity anomaly, and has the characteristics of high magnetic field;Airborne gamma-ray spectrum data shows,on the edge of southeastern EL26556 and central EL26539 exists hydrothermal fluid migration;Remote sensing alteration anomaly information shows, manganese-hydroxy-iron alteration of combination shows in east and southwestern EL26539 performance, and iron-carbonate alteration of combination shows in EL26539 north east, west and the southwest corner of EL26557 EL26556 performance; VTEM analysis shows magnetic anomaly. Carpentaria tenement general reflect the tectonic division of geological block characteristics, magnetic anomaly zone and its partition conductor geological structure has the very good consistency.6. The research results show that southwest area EL26539 in Carpentaria tenement,Roper clastic rock/Karns dolomite interface with steep dip faults intersection of composite parts, at the same time a major magnetic zoning(area) and the combination of remote sensing alteration anomaly of partition belt, and characterized by VTEM magnetic anomaly zone in the conductor section, can be used as a main exploration target areas of manganese deposit.
