Design And Implementation Of The Movie Box Office Predicting System Based On Multivariate Linear Regression Model

In recent years, because the film industry is becoming more and more popular,many domestic cinemas win a lucrative returns. In the past, the cinema was relying on experience to schedule movie, but this may cause the cinema loss a lot of money at the box office, Because the film’s box office income is influenced by many factors,the movie’s last box office with more scheduling may be below expectations.Based on the above background, many cinemas is more and more eager to have a model to predict the movie box office and provide a guidance for movie scheduling. But many existing film box office forecasting models are unknown to the public because of commercial reasons. Based on the analysis of the research status of the application of multivariate linear regression prediction and box office forecasting model at home and abroad, this paper put forward our own multivariate linear regression prediction model at the box office. This paper uses Quartz timer task scheduling management system and the Heritrix crawler tool to implement the movie box office forecasting system based on the SSH framework. This system provides the users of this system many useful functions, like querying the sales trend for film, film information, box office statistics, and other functions. And provide the background management functions to help users to better manage and improve the system, which increases the scalability and maintainability of the system.Through the implementation of this system, can provide the movie box office for domestic theaters, which provide an effective reference for movie scheduling, and greatly reduced the happening of actual box office is well below expectations which scheduled by man-made subjective factors, reduce the loss of the cinema at the box office. At the same time, the system can automatically perform integration functions, such as box office data preprocessing and model training, and also can provide users with movie box office rankings and trends, able to effectively provide users with the data of movie box office, has a very good application prospect and using value.
