With the development of society,research of life sciences has been given more and more attention in all fields.As the basic structural unit of life,cell has been widespread concerned.Research on cell morphology, size distribution and kinetics of intracellular material is an important basis of the development of science and technology,throughout many areas,such as biology, immunology, genetics and clinical medicine. During the study of cells, observing cells and analyzing cell image to obtain useful information is critical and valuable.Conventional cell observation method is using the microscope, while the accurate quantitative analysis of cell images are often carried out by a computer. Although quantitative, accurate processing and analysis of cell image can be realized by the combination of microscope and computer,the entire volume of the cell observation system is large, the structure is complicated, and costs more.Based on above problems,lensless imaging technology was combined with ARM embedded development technology to propose a simple, low-cost cell observation method and system design.Conventional microscope was replaced by lensless imaging device for cell observation.The optical path of lensless imaging method is simple, and then the imaging apparatus could be miniaturized.Image that was acquired from lensless imaging device was processed by a small, low- power, low-cost and high-performance ARM embedded system,instead of traditional cell image processing and analysis tools--PC.The hardware and softwaresystem of image processing was simplified.And the entire system could be miniaturized and low-cost.An embedded development board Smart210 which used ARM Cortex-A8 as the main processor was choosed as the hardware platform,and Linux was selected as the operating system.Open CV and FFTW were transplanted.Qt was used to develop application program. Cell hologram was obtained by image sensor,which used lensless imaging technology.Then cell hologram was read by application program via USB.Cell image acquisition, preview,save and holographic image reconstruction was realized by application program.Then the true form of cells was recovered and cell observation was realized.This paper describes the entire process from design to implementation of the system,and it analyzes the features of hardware And software resources that are used in the system as well as the writing thoughts and debugging method of the application.And some problems encountered and solutions are represented in detail.
