Slow light based on Stimulated Brillouin Scattering(SBS) has been one of the most promising slow light techniques at present. So far the main existing problem of slow light technique based on SBS is that long slow light delay and pulse shape fidelity can not have both ways and it restricts the practical application of this technique. To solve the problem, this paper put forward the technical scheme of broadband slow light delay of ring configuration. Firstly, we present intensity modulation based on carrier frequency suppression to award pump whose spectrum form is dispersive spectrum lines of carrier frequency suppression in order to realize broadband Brillouin amplification and achieve the aim of waveform fidelity. On this basis we apply this modulation technique to the technique of slow light delay of ring configuration and use this pump to amplify signal pulse circular repeatedly in order to realize long slow light delay with waveform fidelity. In theory, starting from coupled wave equations of SBS, deduced calculation model for describing broadband slow light delay of ring configuration scheme. Based on this model I conducted simulation research of broadband slow light delay of ring configuration scheme, and researched the influence rule of number of spectrum lines、 frequency interval of spectrum lines on slow light delay and width of output pulse, and lay the foundation for experimental work.In experiment, I conducted slow light experiment on gaussian pulse whose width is 40 ns, 10 ns and 5 ns. For 40 ns gaussian pulse, I awarded more than 95.6 ns slow light delay without distortion, ratio of delay and the output pulse width was 2.464, the width of output pulse was 38.8 ns, this is the largest slow light delay against 40 ns gaussian pulse under the precondition of no pulse broadening based on SBS slow light. For 10 ns gaussian pulse, I awarded more than 38.4 ns slow light delay, ratio of delay and the output pulse width was 2.464, the width of output pulse was 10.4 ns, this is the largest slow light delay against 10 ns gaussian pulse under the precondition of no obvious pulse broadening based on SBS slow light. For 5 ns gaussian pulse, as upper and lower side frequency of the same order of spectrum lines was not amplified uniformly by EDFA, this caused Brillouin gain spectrum appeared asymmetry, and then led to pulse broadening. In the experiment, for 5 ns gaussian pulse, pulse broadening could be restrained within 7.8 ns, slow light delay could reach 11.6 ns.
