The survey area is located in the Nanping area, Fujian Province. Because of steep terrain, vegetation development, all kinds of interference factors, the conventional electrical prospecting work efficiency is low and bad effect in this area. Regional structure between the southern margin of the North uplift, uplift and southwest depression of Nanping-Ninghua NEE trending structural magmatic belt in the north, object of study for the submarine exhalative massive sulfide (gas)- the late hydrothermal superimposed deposit other lead zinc mine. The 1974 survey of Fujian province team to carry out 1:20 million Jianou picture of regional geology and mineral survey in the region, on the strata, intrusive rocks and geological structure of comprehensive investigation and study, found the many lead-zinc mineralized outcrop, but not meritorious industrial orebody. In 2009, the owners of the construction of 2 boreholes in the study area, core sampling for chemical analysis has not reached the industrial grade.This work through the collection and analysis of the development and application status of induced polarization method, aiming at the complexity of the characteristics of the study area, analysis the geological data of this region and its adjacent area according to the characteristics of rock and ore, found in the study area, rock and ore and rock with electric polarizability difference, a difference of 2 times, a low resistance, high polarization characteristics. The application of dual frequency induced polarization method, dual frequency induced polarization method is a method of light, suitable for the complicated geological conditions of rapid location prediction of concealed ore, the method has strong anti-interference, and portable instrument, high precision of observation. Through comprehensive analysis of geological task, this study region of the earth’s physical condition and technical economic index and other factors, determine the dual frequency IP method is applied to the feasibility of this research work. Then the construction of the 8 lines of the District, in the processing and interpretation of laboratory data, combined with field records; and then the profile data were analyzed, and the treatment results were interpreted anomaly in detail, there are 3 favourable metallogenic belt, the drill hole arrangement verification, prospecting effect.The dual frequency IP method an example of developing prospecting in complex area of Nanping this time, obtain better prospecting results, for the future in other similar areas of application of dual frequency IP prospecting provides certain theory and practice significance.
