Porphyry copper deposit is an important source of copper, which is the most important type of copper mine and account for more than half of copper metal reserves in the world. The Andean metallogenic belt is the best developed porphyry copper deposit in the world, and has the largest porphyry copper deposit reserves, which holds a central position in the global porphyry copper deposits. Substantial progress has been achieved in Gangdise metallogenic belt, and a series of large and super large porphyry copper deposit have been found. And a new theory of continental collision mineralization was proposed through a systematic and thorough research. The theory suggests that the porphyry copper deposit is not only formed in the island arc and continental margin, may also be formed in the collision orogenic belt, such as the Yulong porphyry copper belt which formed under the Tibetan Plateau late collision strike-slip environment, and the Gangdise porphyry copper belt which formed in the post-collisional extension environment. So, how about the geochemical characteristics of those differences of porphyry copper formed in different tectonic background? It became a scientific problem which need to be further discussed. Therefore, it is very important for understanding the mechanism of porphyry copper mineralization through the comparative study of metallogenic features and geochemical characteristics of porphyry copper mineralization under various tectonic background. This article discussed the geochemical features in different tectonic background. The discussion is based on the collection and statistical analysis of geochemical data associated with porphyry copper ore magma rock and the comparative analysis of geochemical characteristic of magmatic rock associated with the porphyry copper in Gangdise metallogenic belt. Through the comparative study of regional metallogenic system, metallogenic epoch, geology of deposit, geochemical characteristics and the characteristics of ore-bearing porphyry, important conclusion was archived。Comparison between the magmatic geochemistry and mineralization of the two metallogenic belts points that there are similarity and differences in the mineralization and tectonics of porphyry copper deposits in the Andean metallogenic belt and the Gangdise metallogenic belt. It reflects the constraints of porphyry copper deposits formed by different tectonic environment, which provides basic information for the further study on the mineralization mechanism of porphyry copper.
