Coal resources play a pivotal role in the development of national economy. In China, coal resources are abundant, but resource utilization rate is not high, the reason is that in the process of exploration and development, coal properties analysis is imperfect. And coalbed methane as a pollution-free unconventional natural gas resource has been gradually paid attention to. In the view of practical demand, the thesis analyzes the log responses characteristics of seams, researches the calculation methods of coal properties and gas containing, further discusses the dynamic process of coalbed methane desorption, and develops a set of logging interpretation software based on these studies.By using 65-layer logging data, the thesis concludes the correlation between components and logging data, and founds models based on GRNN and LS-SVM to calculate coal components and gas content. The result shows that these models are accurate and can be applied to production. Through researching Weibull desorption equation, the thesis calculates three key pressure and divides desorption process into five stages. The more detailed partition will guide development more accurately.Based on the demand of coal logging interpretation, the paper develops a set of software combined with neural network algorithm and coalbed methane desorption process. The software can import data, show data, interpret, export results and includes other basic functions. It also has friendly interfaces and simple operations, which is suitable for the interpretation of the coal field.
