Rapid advances in sensor design, information technology and other areas of wireless networks have paved the way for the development of Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN). WSN can put a virtual world in combination with the real world in an unprecedented scale, it is used in many practical applications, including the protection of civil infrastructure, residence monitoring, precision agriculture, toxic gas detection, and supplying chain management, etc. The widely application of WSN makes network performance optimization become a hot research area.Coverage ratio reflects the quality that the network can provide the service of perception, which means a key indicator to measure the network performance of WSN. This paper investigates and analyses the theory of WSN coverage, and deploys sensor nodes by the selection of static cover method based on actual scene. Artificial bee colony algorithm has higher ability in global searching, but the convergence speed is relatively slow during later period; Although the particle swam optimization has great exploitation ability, which will fall into local optimal solution easily. This paper presents an advantage complementation hybrid algorithm, and applys it to network coverage optimization. Population are divided into two subgroups, one subgroup begans to evolve according to artificial bee colony algorithm, another subgroup begans to evolve according to particle swarm optimization. In the process of evolution, In the process of evolution, the two subgroups choose different way of learning according to the global optimal solution. This evolution mode can make the two subgroups mutually guide each other. The simulation experiment of network coverage demonstrates the improvement effect of the proposed algorithm in network optimization. In other words, the hybrid algorithm could improve the network lifetime, and reduce network redundancy radio.The network’s lifetime is the most important indicator to measure network performance of WSN, and energy influences the network’s lifetime as the key factor. LEACH protocol is a kind of low power consumption clustering routing protocol, it’s advantage is simple and no routing maintenance; however it’s disadvantage is prone to cause the energy hole problem and the hot spot issues. and the premise condition of protocol implementation is that each node can directly communicate with base station, but it’s impossible in the actual situation. According to the disadvantages of LEACH protocol, this paper proposes a improvement program with multiple hops routing. During the establishment of the clusters, this paper puts forward a cluster head selection probability formula based on the initial energy of nodes and the current energy, make energy load of the network more balance. In cluster routing process, a cost function is introduced according to the energy of cluster head, cluster member nodes and the cluster head position. A relay node is selected by cluster head according to the cost function, thus the hot issue of the LEACH protocol is sovled. By using MATLAB to simulate LEACH protocol and improvement, the simulation results show that the improved LEACH protocol can balance the energy load of the network, and prolong the network’s lifetime.Based on the researches of the network coverage optimization algorithm and the improvement of the routing protocol, the network performance of geological disaster monitoring is optimized.
