With the development of optical technology, nonlinear optics as a new branch of modern optics has become the basic theories of photoelectron technology. Nonlinear optics materials as the nonlinear optical carrier from theory to practice, by the action of external light, electricity, strain field caused by the absorption, refraction changes have been applied to a growing number of modern optics(such as laser technology,optical switching, optical computers, etc).the organic NLO materials as a very important part in NLO material because of the better design of molecules. Therefore, design and synthesis of organic NLO material has a high NLO coefficient(β) is already become a hot topic in today’s high-tech research.This paper made a comprehensive introduction to the research status of the effect of nonlinear optics and the organic nonlinear optics materials chromophore molecule.As the organic onlinear optics chromophore molecular design theory, eight kinds of organic onlinear optics chromophore molecules were designed and synthesized with a double bond, azobenzene, a furan ring, furan conjugated azo bridge. By IR, NMR and Elemental Analysis characterize the structure of the synthesized target molecules and intermediates.By TGA test shows that: A 5% weight loss temperature about the eight organic nonlinear optics chromophore molecules synthesized in this paper above 250℃, it can be determined that these molecules have a strong thermal stability, can fully meet the requirements of the optical device fabrication.The second order polarization rate of the synthesized chromophore target molecules were determined by solvatochromism method, and by the second order polarization rate to determine nonlinear optics properties of the synthesized target chromophore molecules. Although this method neither exactness as the rayleigh scattering(HRS) method, nor exactness as the electric field-induced second harmonic precision(EFISH) method, but because of its relatively simple and requires no special equipment, just measuring the fluorescence emission spectrum of a solution or a UV-vis spectrum. Therefore, this article determined the second order polarization rate of these molecule by solvatochromism method. Test results show that the synthesized severalorganic nonlinear target chromophore molecules possess large μgβ(1064nm) values and the maximum value is 59706×10-48 esu. It can be judged this article synthesized the eight molecules have good nonlinear optical properties.
