Digital speckle correlation method(DSCM)as a kind of non-contact experimental mechanics method gets fast development and gradually applies in more fields from the 1980s being put forword to now. On the basis of the research of digital speckle correlation method at home and abroad, this paper uses the matlab software to compile a set of process which can calculate larger deformation displacement and strain of the samples (for short CM process), and apply it to experiment research of the sheet metal’s deformation measurement and the rubber materials’mechanical properties. This paper introduces the basic principle of digital speckle correlation method, on the basis of that makes the CM process that can calculate the whole pixel displacement and large strain, and then uses the process to do numerical simulation of measuring the displacement and strain of the unidirectional and bidirectional rigid body translation and deformation of 5%,10%,30%,40% of the uniaxial tensile. The results show that the error is within 3%, and prove the reliability of the CM process. The digital speckle correlation method CM process is applied to the study of sheet metal deformation measurement and the rubber materials’mechanical properties. Compared the results measured by digital speckle correlation method with extensometer measured.the error is small. And this shows the feasibility of the CM process. Then it gets the part of the sheet metal samples’displacement and strain distribution in plastic stage by DSCM. Using digital speckle correlation method to measure the deflection of the rubber material.the paper calculates the tensile elastic modulus of rubber sample. It proved that at the same time, the digital speckle correlation method can be used for the study of sheet metal’s larger deformation in the plastic stage and the mechanical properties of rubber materials. provides effective ways For future research of digital speckle correlation method applied to sheet metal deformation in plastic stage and rubber tensile mechanical properties.
