It experiences long time for people to search for mineral resources using the surface mineralization clues. However, with the geochemical methods, the horizon of traditional prospecting methods has been expanded. Not only does it search the visible surface mineralization, but also, it aims at the the surrounding abnormity of the mineralization or the setting target regions, like geochemical provinces. Therefore, in terms of geochemical prospecting materials, numerous prospecting sites and signs which are difficult to evaluate in the past, as well as the regions where the mineralization signs of the surface are hard to observe, new information, which can indicate the distinguishable geochemical differences, are revealed now. In this way, to extract the mineralization anomalies scientifically and effectively, and to screen them rapidly, appear to be the decisive parts of this work.Gejiu tin and copper polymetallic mine area has a long history, and it is famous for the production of tin, which contributes to its name of “city of tin”. Apart from tin, other 20 kinds of ores which have been discovered mainly include: copper, lead, zinc, tungsten and so on. The present study collected the geochemical data of 39 kinds of element in Gejiu and its adjacent regions. Mainly, it adopted various approaches to do research on the ore-formation elements, like Sn, Cu, W, Pb, Zn, and Ag, and thus to ensure the anomalies.Firstly, using the method of multivariate statistical analysis, has been obtained nine kinds of combinations of major factors by this study. The first three factors have obvious geological significance. F1: [Co-Cr-Ni-P-Ti-V-Fe2O3]-[-(K2O-SiO2)] reflects that in the process of granite magma evolution, with the increasing acid and alkaline component, mafic component gradually decreases; F2: [Ag-As-CuMn-Pb-Sn] reflects the Sn-Cu polymetallic oreforming elements related to Yanshania n granite hydrothermal mineralization; F3: [B-Be-Bi-Cu-F-W ] is a granite-related combination of the oreforming elements Cu-W.Then, on the basis of assured lower limit of anomalies and abnormal concentration zoning, and by adopting the principle of geochemical block, the geochemical anomaly map of Gejiu, which was represented by the six ore-formation factors, namely Cu, Pb, Zn, Sn, W, Ag and etc, has been compiled in the end. Additionally, analysis of the distribution features of there anomalies has been conducted by integrating the existing geological data, which was conducive to the preliminary estimation of the amount of each anomaly block. To be more precise, 6 anomalies of Sn has been confirmed, with a total area of 2183 km2, and the potential resource amount was 5056821t; as for Cu, there were 18 anomalies, and the total area was 1158km2, and the estimated resource amount(Metal supply) was 1032362013t; for W, 13 anomalies, a total area of 2471km2, and Potential resource amount of 505066 t, has been ensured; and for Pb, there were 17 anomalies and a total area of 2533km2. Its potential resource amount was 213602492 t. When it came to Zn, there were 21 anomalies, with a total area of 2237km2 and the potential resource amount was 631988416t; Last but not least, for Ag, 26 anomalies have been assured, the total area was 2190km2, and its potential resource amount was 554776 t.To sum up, all the above achievements have equipped us with a solid and powerful support, which can downsize the prospecting target regions.
