The plant HGO genes were preliminary analyzed with Arabidopsis and rice as the material.The effects of HGO gene mutation in Arabidopsis seedling growth were researched by the way of adding exogenous tyrosine. The results showed that the tyrosine degradation pathway of HGO gene mutations can promote the growth of Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings, low concentration of tyrosine promotes Arabidopsis seeding growth while high concentration of tyrosine inhibits seeding growth.Rice OsHGO gene is HGO gene homologous gene in Arabidopsis thaliana. We cloned OsHGO into the pBI121, and transformed it into Arabidopsis sscd1hgo-1 mutants. To observe the phenotype of transgenic plants, we can verify OsHGO gene’s function. The results show that OsHGO gene can restore Arabidopsis transgenic plants cell death phenotype; therefore OsHGO gene has the similar functions to HGO gene.We analyze OsHGO gene expression by the means of real-time quantitative PCR. The results show that the expression of OsHGO gene is low in stem and ear but high in roots and leaves; ABA (abscisic acid) can induce OsHGO gene expression; SA(Salicylic acid), MeJA (jasmine) and rice blast fungus can negatively regulate OsHGO gene expression; Dark treatment can also be induced OsHGO gene expression.
