The water resource have been relatively poor in China, the per capita water consumption accounts for 25% of the world. With the rapid development of industry and modernization of China, this issue has become even worse. Some polluted water may have been used as the sources for drinking water. In order to solve the problem of drinking water supply, the management and replenishment of freshwater is crucial to China.In most part of our cities, groundwater basically become their only water sources. Groundwater is an important part of freshwater resources, water quality is good, widely distributed, less pollution, better storage capacity and many other advantages are recognized by the people, therefore, the degree of exploitation of groundwater more and more people. Currently based mainly pore water, karst water, fissure water supplement.Karst area of Yunnan province accounted for 28.14% of the province’s area. There are karst water in 115 urban areas in Yunnan province, of which the meteoric water is the main recharge source.Yunnan is located in the area of Asian monsoon climate, there is plentiful and relative massing rainfall in summer while winter is of dry climate and lack of rainfall. Therefore, the research on the distribution and pollution of karst water has become a very important issue.At present, Chinese technology for groundwater exploitation and utilization is far from maturity, and water drop detection mainly depends on Manual collecting and sampling, which is of low efficient. Taking this situation into consideration, an automatic monitoring and sampling system for underground water drop employing the LPC1768 microcontroller based on ARM Cortex-M3 core was presented in this paper, which is less energy-spent and lower storage. The system is consist of power module, storage module, keystroke selection module and relay driving module.At last, as the test data is input in the module of water drop detection, the results show that this module are stable and can meet the needs of accurate karst water quality monitoring. Automatic sampling of karst water monitoring is also implemented based on other module.
