In the oil and gas exploration, VSP well logging were commonly used for horizon calibration in seismic data interpretation.Compared with the surface seismic observation, VSP has the advantage of High signal to noise ratio and high resolution, and is increasingly widely used in seismic exploration.Development of domestic VSP logging equipment lagged, mainly rely on imports, is lowly exploration efficiency,also mainly for deep oil and gas field development.In order to improve the quality of VSP logging data, improve production efficiency, we researched and designed of high-power spark source.This design of high-power spark source, analyzes the theory of sparker capacitance charge and discharge process, the use of linear boost charging mode.This method has a high charging efficiency, the magnitude of the current change is steady.The design of Charging circuit, voltage regulator module includes an inverter, control and measurement system achieving the regulator process control, as well as the boost and rectification section via RS485 communication.Design,of discharge circuit is composed of high-voltage discharge switch and trigger circuit, transmission cables, the discharge electrode, and an optical fiber synchronous triggering device.The capacitance of the high-power spark source is 400uf, the charging voltage is up to 10KV, charging and discharging of the capacitor can be carried out smoothly,The spark launches seismic waves in the medium, zero-delay triggers seismic acquisition equipment, and working stably, easily to operate, basically reached the technical specification request.In the shallow VSP logging test, we adapted the method of Zero distance wellhead observation mode launching on the ground,500m deep with four three-dimensional geophone receiver.we extracted wavelet shape,and analyzed the spectral characteristics, compared with dynamite source data.Test results can be concluded that this spark source of this paper has the advantage of consistent wavelet, broad spectrum, suitable for shallow VSP logging and determining formation speed,and the horizon calibration is very favorable, is also the perfect source of engineering seismic exploration.This paper introduces the spark source in the case of application of Hefei New Lakeside reconnaissance work area, the use of ground excitation terrestrial reception mode, and compared with the sparker source hammering effect, it demonstrated its high resolution in the engineering exploration, as well as the geological effects evident.
