Sand and dust weather is the phenomenon that the wind blows sand to make the air turbid and the atmospheric visibility significantly reduced, which is caused by climate, environment, and human activity. This article is the study of the occurrence and influencing factors of the sand and dust weather taking place in Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos, through monitoring the total suspended particles in the air in 2015, PM10 concentration and visibility, combing with the monitoring data of the meteorological factors such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed of those three major cities in the central region of Inner Mongolia. The research results show that:In 2015, the monthly average concentrations of TSP in Hohhot, Baotou, and Ordos were respectively 0.068-0.198mg/m3,0.084-0.227mg/m3 and 0.029-0.101mg/m3. In the whole year, the concentration of TSP was higher during January to May and November to December, while the concentration of TSP was lower during June to October. During March to May of 2015, the days ratio which the TSP concentration reach the Second ambient air quality standard of Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos respectively were respectively 93.5%、96.7%,87.1%; 87.1、96.7%、67.7%; 100% and 96.55% and 100%.In 2015,the data of Hohhot are:in typical Dust weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.027~1.122 mg/m, and the range of visibility is 9.808~9.808 km; In typical sand-blowing weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.166~3.35 mg/m3, and the range of visibility is 3.265~25.14 km. In 2015, the data of Baotou are:in typical dust weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.274~1.466 mg/m3, the visibility is 7.302~7.302 km; In typical sand-blowing weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.339~2.394 mg/m3, the visibility range is 0.598~8.636 km. As for Ordos in 2015, in typical dust weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.112~1.046 mg/m3, the visibility is 1.624~1.624 km; In typical sand-blowing weather, the concentration of TSP is 1.159~2.71 mg/m3, the visibility is 0.469 km~4.415 km; In typical sandstorm weather, the concentration of TSP is 0.066~5.366 mg/m3, the visibility is 0.267 km-17.45 km.In accordance with the classification of sand and dust weather by the concentration of TSP in the air, the number of sand and dust weather days in 2015 in Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos were respectively 15 days,16 days and 12 days, which the number of dust weather days were respectively 11 days,15 days and 9 days, and the number of sand blowing weather were respectively 4 days,1 day and 2 days. The number of sandstorms days of Ordos in February,2015 was 1 day.In accordance with the classification of sand dust weather by the visibility, the number of sand dust weather days in 2015 in Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos were respectively 165 days,90 days and 283 days, which the number of dust weather days were respectively 128 days,54 days and 262 days, and the number of sand blowing weather days were respectively 37 days,36 days and 21 days.Using TSP concentration classification standard and classification standard of dust weather and visibility micrometeorology is different on the weatherIn 2015 years in Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos, the concentration of TSP in the air was negative correlation with the air humidity, but was positive correlation with wind speed; and the correlation is not strong with atmospheric pressure and rainfall. The concentration of TSP was positively correlated with negative concentration of PM10 and the air visibility, what’s more, the relevance were stronger between the PM10 concentration and air visibility.
