Zhejiang Province in China as coastal areas is located in mid-latitudes, the low mountainous terrain of its southeastern often produces mesoscale convective cells that can cause local severe weather, which caused severe economic losses and casualties in this region. In this paper, we made use of a typical short squall line weather process along the southwest-northeast Donggong mountains on July 5,2012, using doppler radar data and automatic observation data to launch analysis and taking the help of WRF mesoscale numerical models to carry out an numerical simulation experiment to look for mesoscale conditions and characteristics of severe convection that occurred over terrain, case study had obtained relatively satisfactory results. The doppler radar data was used to gather statistics about short-time, original squall line or short banded convection events, those events occurred over the Dongong mountains in July from 2012 to 2014 and were similar to "0705" case.93 samples are classified into four types of short-term climatic type, excluding typhoon type, convection type and no phenomena type, simulated respectively and satisfactory results were obtained. In this article, the occurrence and development conditions of convection events over coastal mountain were gained through multiple high resolution simulation results and combined with observe data:the western Pacific subtropical high westward to the Zhejiang region, middle-level has a weak cold air moves southward, low-level exists warm and wet airflow that induced by continuous southwest air flow, this type of configuration helped to generate convective instable stratification in south Zhejiang. At the same time, when the low-level southwest airflow and southeaster from sea both increased, they will converge and lifting to form convection cloud, the convection cells move toward northeast by the effect of southwest winds and gradually merged into banded convection along the Donggong mountains.
