Electromagnetic scattering problem is one of the important research directions in the field of computational electromagnetic field, the research on electromagnetic scattering of multiscale objects is a hot topic in recent years. One of the basic ideas of the analysis of the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the multiscale objects is to divide the objects into blocks, and the characteristic basis function method based on the method of moments is the representative method. Characteristic basis function method is based on the conceptions of grouping and high-level basis function. The method is an efficient algorithm to solve the electromagnetic scattering problem of multiscale objects.First of all, this thesis introduces the establishment of the electric field integral equation, and expounds the basic principle of the method of moments and the steps of using the method of moments to solve the electric field integral equation. Then, the characteristic basis function method is studied in depth, and the advantages and disadvantages of three different methods in calculating time and efficiency are analyzed. In addition, some multiscale problems are introduced, and the characteristic basis function method is used to solve the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of multiscale problems. Finally, the adaptive modified characteristic basis function method based on Foldy-Lax multipath scattering is extended to multilevel adaptive modified characteristic basis function method,.This method can speed up the computation speed by dividing the multilevel into the sub domains. The method is applied to analyze the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of multi scale objects, and the numerical results are compared with the numerical results of the method of moment method and the adaptive modified characteristic basis function method. The results proved its correctness and validity.
