Protein folding is one of the most complexed topics in biology. Protein folding rate is affected by many factors, such as temperature, denaturant concentration, size and amino acid composition so on. From the 30 s of last century. Chinese scientists Wu proposed the problem of protein denaturation There were a lot of researches to protein folding mechanism. Such as: Fold path model, folding funnel model, diffusion model. Traditionally, Protein folding mechanism is commonly studied by use of classical molecular dynamics(MD) simulation,But Luo open a new path,they put forward protein quantum folding theory in recent years. They study conformational dynamics of biological macromolecules by quantum mechanics. Protein folding rate deduced from quantum conformational transition. Luo proposed that the conformation variation of a macromolecule is a quantum transition process between different torsion states. However, the transition is also generally related to some fast variables of the system, most important is the frontier electrons of molecules and the atomic group connected to these molecules. A statistical formula for the prediction of protein folding rate was proposed based on quantum folding theory. The folding rates for 65 two-state proteins were carried out, We determine the fast variable factor Mā2, the structural view of the dimer and the order of magnitude estimate gives the rate in the range of 106Hz-107 Hz. and the theoretical vs. experimental correlation coefficient was 0.79. These results justify the feasibility of protein quantum folding theory. Of course, it still need more evidence to verify this theory. We extended the model on the folding rate and make the statistical investigation of the folding rate for 23 single-domain protein,There are 16 Protein are fitting well the experimental results,5 protein portion fitted the results.Based on quantum folding theory to study the problems of protein folding is feasible. It may provide new ideas for understanding protein folding mechanisms, protein folding quantum transition theory will be opening a new window of hope in complex field of biology research.
