Cartographic generalization has been one of the key problem in cartography. With the appearance of digital map, the research field of automatic synthesis in computer environment is becoming a hot topic. A complete automatic integrated system, its must contain two parts: one is able to achieve the data transformation between different scales of the automatic integrated; the other is the data can be integrated to assess the quality. Both are indispensable, but in terms of the current situation, there a lot of research on automatic synthesis algorithm, but the quality of the evaluation mechanism for the study is very little. With the further development of the research, people gradually found that the data quality problems have been more and more attention. This paper first analyzes the research background and the research status of the automatic comprehensive quality evaluation, and discussed the cartographic generalization constraints concept, origin, classification and the essence, according to the characteristics of the study regional data, summarizes six types of constraints: scale constraints, spatial relationship constraints, structural constraints, semantic constraints, geometric constraints and comprehensive process constraint. And then put forward the surface mapping element comprehensive quality evaluation index system according to the five types of constraints; Based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and analytic hierarchy process, established the mathematical model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Select the Chang’an ziwu street of farmland classification data in 2014 as a comprehensive experimental data, take the corresponding operation to obtain comprehensive results. Then the comprehensive evaluation model is used to evaluate the comprehensive quality, the result of the comprehensive quality evaluation is good. At last, summarized the main work of the paper and some problems in the paper.
