The Shilu rich iron ore deposit, located in the Changjiang County, Hainan Province, is a large opened ore deposit with hematite-rich. However, so far the ore genesis and metallogenic mechanism are still disputed, which seriously constrains the next prospecting on the depth and margin of mining area. Based on the previous researches, we have carried out detailed studies on the geological characteristics and geoehemical characteristics of Iron in the Shilu iron ore deposit.Include field macroscopic characteristics(Geological Survey Sampling, researched the stratum and output characteristics of ore bodies), The microscopic characteristics(researched the mineral morphology), the geoehemical characteristics(researched the distribution regularity of major elements, trace elements and REE), and the mineralogy characteristics(electron microprobe analysis) and so on. In order to re-evaluate the metallogenic process and ore genesis of the deposit. The main achievements are made as follows:(1)The Shilu rich iron ore deposit is the marine sedimentary deposits, not the magmatic deposit by researched geoehemical characteristics of ore bodies. The ore-forming material source is the same in the main ore bodies, and Fe subordinate with Si, Ba resources.(2)The ore is divided into the primary deposition type iron ore, the regional metamorphic type iron ore and the magmatic hydrothermal superimposed type iron ore by the microscopic characteristics and the mineralogy characteristics.(3)Analyze the relationship between the stratum, the structure, the magmatic rock and ore-forming. The stratum offered main of the metallogenic material; The structure controlled the ore body location, distribution and thickness diversification; The magmatic rocks carry on the enrichment and transformation of ore deposit.(4)Based on the geological characteristics and geoehemical characteristics of iron and the ore-controlling factors researches, the Shilu iron ore deposit formation is the result of metamorphic sedimentary, and experienced subsequent metamorphic hydrothermal or magmatic hydrothermal superimposition. The Shilu iron ore deposit classified as the metamorphosedsedimentary iron deposits controlled by the stratum and hydrothermal superimposition.(5)Re-evaluate the metallogenic process and ore genesis of the deposit, and draw the metallogenic model map.
