Manxi-awati depression is the most important exploration field in Tarim Basin a nd recently oil & gas display appeared in clastic sediment intervals. This depression h as be decided as a new target for the future exploration due to excellent oil & gas disp lay in Donghe sandstone interval and bituminous sandstone. The explanation of clasti c rocks was continuous in this depression, however, none useful progress was achieve d because of the low extent trap and high velocity variation.There is a huge gap between the expected depth and real depth in this area becau se of the influence of velocity. Research shows the complex velocity of igneous rock i nfluences the comprehensive velocity in the whole area. As a result of this, igneous ro ck velocity detection is the pre-work of low extent clastic trap identification.This research mainly focused on the shear and compressional wave velocity anal ysis of igneous rock, which also benefits the bituminous sandstone and low extent cla stic trap study. Precise structure description will be achieved. This research includes c omprehensive geophysics explanation of formation, analysis of igneous rock lithofaci es, velocity inversion using well log and seismic data, comprehensive software applic ation, reservoir prediction and hydrocarbon detection. The purpose is to identify low e xtent trap and further improve clastic rocks analysis method.
