Photonic crystals are attractive for controlling and manipulating light flow. This property enables one to control light with amazing facility and produce effects that are impossible with conventional optics. Photonic crystal affects the motion of photons in much the same way that ionic lattices affect electrons in semiconductor, so it is known as "photonic semiconductor" It is considered to be the material basis for the future photonic industrial revolution. Since the early eights of last century, chiral structures, having a sense of structural twist and no mirror symmetry, are fascinating. They exhibit very unique optical activities like the polarization rotation of linearly polarized light as observed in quartz and solutions of organic substances. The promising applications of chiral material lie in that stealth material, the new type of microwave device, microwave antenna, etc. The study of combining photonic crystals with chiral material becomes the frontier science research area.As a kind of efficient method for fabricating micro-nanostructures, holographic lithography technique is widely used because of its simple preparation, low cost, large area samples. Based on the holographic lithography principle, we studied on the structural simulations for fabrication of spirals chiral photonic crystal. This paper is mainly divided into the following sections:In the first part, the basic concept of photonic crystal, such as properties, fabrication methods and applications were introduced. Also we consider the application prospect of the chiral structure and preparation method. In the second part, we introduce the basic principle of holographic lithography, As for the reciprocal lattice vector, the Fourier expansion, to determine the interference patterns, as well as the laser electric field vector, we detailed the holographic fabrication procedure. The third part, by using the 4 + 1 beams configuration optical path, several kinds of spiral structures can be obtained. We also studied asymmetric 5 interference beams of producing some chiral structures. In the fourth part, by numerical simulation, we study the transmission and reflection properties of light for different micro-nanostructures, By combining with our experimental results, we calculated the circular dichroism for our fabricated spirals. The calculated results are well matched with the experimental results.
