Water vapor content changing affect the global heat in the atmosphere circulation, water cycle, radiation balance, because of its high variation frequency and key role, in atmospheric science, space geodesy, hydrology and other subjects in occupies an important position. Traditional moisture detection means can’t in time and space resolution, accuracy and reliability at the same time meet the requirements. The emergence of GPS meteorology, becomes a powerful tool for the atmospheric water vapor detection means.This article emphatically from the following several aspects discusses the foundation of GPS in the key steps in the detection of water vapor and influence factors, using the data from the Hong Kong CORS sensing water vapor scheme is studied and the error source in the process of; Through the contrast experiment to zenith delay correction model analysis; The mapping function, horizontal gradient model the comparison; Analysis of wet delay converts to precipitation, the influence factors of accuracy; The applicability of the regression model of area weighted average temperature experiment validation; The Hong Kong foundation GPS inversion atmospheric rainfall experiment, the result shows that the accuracy, reliability, fully meet the requirements for meteorological application; Verify the foundation of ocean loading for offshore GPS base station detection can be precipitation has great influence; Choosing calculating observations, LC_HELP, LC_RANG and LC_ONLY three calculating result difference is small, each observation can replace each other when accuracy is not high; Experiments prove that using precise ephemeris, the rapid precise ephemeris and finally forecast results close to the precise ephemeris decoding PWV values, are in practice the choice of time-sensitive ephemeris; Experiment compared the single GPS data and GPS/GLONASS double PWV value in the current system data inversion results are very close.
