China is a country with a lot of earthquake, the destruction of tailing dam is disastrous. Due to the complexity of seismic response and the nonlinearity of tailings dam, the stability analysis under earthquake action has become a difficult problem, in the dynamic response analysis of tailings dam, the dynamic stability, liquefaction and residual deformation of tailings dam is the main concern of the people.In this paper, we develop a program to search and calculate the most dangerous slip surface of tailings dam under dynamic action, based on the calculation model of a tailing pond in Hebei province, the nonlinear static analysis and dynamic analysis are carried out by using ABAQUS software. The traditional analysis method is not suitable to evaluate the stability of slope with the minimum safety factor as the index.In this paper by the safety factor in the length of time average value as the evaluation index, based on this index put forward three different time history analysis method to evaluate the dynamic slope stability of tailing dam, the dynamic calculation of tailings dam slope stability has made some useful exploration, the main research contents are as follows:(1)Based on finite element limit equilibrium method and optimization theory,using the Fortran language, compiled under the action of earthquake search and calculation of the most dangerous slip surface subroutine, the absorbed the advantages of finite element and optimization principle, the procedure is effective and accurate calculation of the seismic process each time the most dangerous slip surface of the size and location of.(2)Selects a tailings in Hebei Province for the calculation of the model using ABAQUS software modeling and the nonlinear static calculation and dynamic calculation, get the stress in the main section of the tailings dam stress nephogram,static stress level diagram and crest level distribution to the acceleration response curve, the output static stress and dynamic files, to prepare for the follow-up procedure call.(3)Based on seismic dynamic time history response analysis method, this paper presents a fixed slip time history analysis method, dynamic time history analysis method, dynamic analysis method, three kinds of tailings dam slope stability analysis method. Three methods are used to analyze the dynamic stability of tailings dam with the time history curve and dynamic safety factor, and the time of seismic action is more appropriate.
