The distribution of landscape elements was the basic content of landscape structure, it was the foundation for a better understanding of the landscape pattern. At present, It has some research been reported about the spatial distribution of landscape elements. However,there are necessary to make further study related to the study area, characterization indicators, and impact factors on the distribution of landscape elements. In this article, the spatial distribution of landscape elements were studied under the influence of climatic factors and topographic factors in Chongxin Couty. The results showed that:(1)In different range of ecological factors, the dominant types of landscape elements were different: in the range of slope ≤6 °, farmland was the dominant type in landscape structure, in the range of slope>6°, forest was the dominant landscape elements; Altitude of1000-1200 m, farmland was the dominant type in the landscape structure, altitude > 1200 m,forest was the dominant type in landscape structure; under the influence of slope,accumulated temperature and rainfall, forest was the dominant landscape type in landscape structure.(2)In the range of slope 6 °-15 °, altitude of 1200-1400 m, accumulated temperature3800-3900℃, rainfall 450-500 mm, the patch number of landscape elements were the most,greater or less than this range, the patch number of all landscape elements gradually reduced. in all aspect, the patch number of forest were the most.(3)Affected by slope and altitude, the variation of the ratio for interior edge of farmland, residential and industrial land, other land, water,garden and river were similar;Affected by aspect, the ratio for interior edge of farmland, grassland, residential and industrial land, forest and other land change little, the ratio for interior edge of transportation land, the water and river decreased; the ratio for interior edge of landscape elements changed little influenced by acculated temperature; under the influence of rainfall,the ratio for interior edge of water, river and transportation land changed greatly, its mainly a downward trend.(4)The fragmentation of landscape elements were differentlly affected by ecological factors: Within the range of slope≤2°, the fragmentation of farmland, river, residential andindustrial land, water and garden were the most, in the range of 6-15°, the fragmentation index of forest were the most. In the range of altitude 1000-1600 m, the fragmentation of farmland was most, In the range of altitude 1600-1800 m, the fragmentation of forest was most; Under the influence of aspect, the fragmentation of forest were the most within each interval; Affected by acculated temperature and rainfall, the fragmentation of forest was the most. Overall, the river and transportation land as corridor in landscape structure, the fragmentation index changed greatly. the fragmentation index of the river was mainly affected by slope, altitude and aspect, the fragmentation index of the transportation land was mainly affected by rainfall.(5)Correlation analysis showed that the PLAND, NP, the ratio for interior edge,fragmentation index of landscape elements have a high correlation with slope, aspect and elevation. So the slope, aspect,elevation were the main factors affecting the distribution of landscape elements.
