The design and research of the consolidation of gravity dam against debris flow is a hot issue in today. Due to some mountain landform and rainfall, landslides occurred with high frequency, many gravity dams against debris flow which were built in last century has served more than half a century, a lot of gravity dams against debris flow has been seriously damaged. This paper presents a design idea for strengthening gravity dam against debris flow.This paper introduces the basic theory of ABAQUS, the basic principle of the finite element method, the variational principle of the contact problem. Then it explains the modeling method of ABAQUS to solve the impact problem, defines the element type, material properties and contact type, and puts forward the reasonable modeling method.The main contents of this paper are:(1)The study of reinforcement schemes and theoretical basis of reinforcement schemes. The contact force time history curve, displacement, stress and displacement of the joint surface of the new and old dam under 4 typical impact positions were analyzed, and the displacement and compressive stress of the joint surface under the action of static load were analyzed. The results showed that the combination of the old and the new dam is of go od performance, and the reinforcement scheme is effective.(2)Analyzing the grade of concrete, impact mass, impact velocity, impact angle, combined surface friction coefficient and other parameters of the gravity dam against debris flow which is under impact loading bar diameter. And studied the law of influence of stress and pressure with anchorage diameter and grade of concrete under the action of static load.(3)Combined with numerical analysis results, formulating a monitoring scheme of the dam, at the same time, designed a reinforcement construction drawing of the gravity dam against debris flow. Now the reinforcement design has been completed, and the monitoring instrument has been put in place.
