Honggang-Sifangtuozi area in south Song liao Basin stretches across the west slope and the central depression two big tectonic elements and lies in the steep slope and the front delta zone of the two rivers of the southwest Tongyu and the western Baicheng during the combination, with the formation of hidden traps basic geological conditions. Based on the large quantities of drilling, logging and seismic data, by using the high resolution sequence stratigraphy theory and analysis, we conducted the study of the sequence stratigraphy and the subtle reservoir prediction in the study area. On the basis of the analysis of the reservoir genetic types and the distribution, we provided the important geological scientific basis for the area study.Through the identification of various types of the sequence boundary, we divided the Qingshankou Formation into three long term base level cycles and six middle term base level cycles. Based on the high-resolution sequence stratigraphic framework with the combination of the well and seismic data in the western front zone, we carried out the study of the sedimentary facies in the sequence stratigraphic framework and identified the main sedimentary facies: the braided river delta, slump turbidite fan, shallow lake and semi-deep lake facies. At the same time, to the middle term base level cycles as a unit, we solved the non-uniform stratigraphic correlation problem between north and south. And then, we analysed the strata characteristics in the sequence framework and pointed out that the sedimentation center migrated from south to north with the bottom-up.On the basis of the analysis of the distribution and accumulation of oil and gas and resevior factors, we defined main controlled factors of the subtle traps in the study area. Comprehensive analysis of the conditions of subtle traps, we provided the three areas of the subtle traps in the study area and predicted five subtle traps in target areas.
