According to the study area’s geomorphic features, bedrock outcrop, complexity of geological structure and main existing geological problems, on the basis of making full use of achievement data of 1:250,000 regional geological surveys, and by applying remote sensing interpretation technology to enhance interpretation of ETM satellite multiband data series images, we can shorten work hours and achieve the aim of heightening geological survey level of study area.In 1:50,000 regional geological survey, the task of remote sensing is ,from remote sensing images, to maximum extent, extracting relevant information, including rocks(sedimentary rocks, magmatic rocks and metamorphic rocks), strata, structure, mineral etc. By remote sensing interpretation, we can figure out all kinds of geological bodies, geological phenomena and their spatial-temporal distribution and interrelation, and we can also deduce geological action process, motion state etc. With remote sensing, we aim at enhancing foreseeability of preparing work, effectively deploying field investigation, improving geological mapping speed and quality, and deepening regional geological understanding. The paper not only involves traditional Smith strata remote sensing interpretation methods, but also, because of the structure complexity of study area, discusses the non-smith strata remote sensing interpretation and establishes non-smith strata interpretation keys. Meanwhile, we worked out 1:50,000 remote sensing interpretation geological map of Jiaomuri area of Shuanghu. We analyzed lake distribution of the study area and conclude the linear relationship between the lake distribution and fractures. In addition, by extracting alteration information showed by remote sensing images, we know the mineral situation of study area. And through contrastive analysis to remote sensing image processing methods of study area, we acquired more proper remote sensing process method to this type of area, which has certain guiding significance to later 1:50,000 regional geological surveys.
