Human life and production are threatened by some metal ions which show strong toxicity, high accumulation and hard degradation to environmental pollution. Therefore, the establishment of trace and simple analytical techniques with metal ions are greatly significant to human. Due to its low detection limit, high sensitivity, good selectivity, little sample, simple and quick operation, the fluorescent chemosensor is used commonly for detection of metal ions.In this thesis, the application of fluorescent chemosensor on ion detection in recent years was firstly summarized; then 2,6-bis-[1′,3′-thiazolidin-4′-on-2′-yl]pyridine derivatives (5a-c) were synthesized and identified by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and ESI-MS; finally, the fluorescent properties of 5a-c over heavy and transition metal (HTM) ions, such as Ag+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Ba2+, Pb2+, Hg2+, Cd2+, Cu2+, were investigated in pure water. It was found that 5a exhibited fluorescent recognition of Pb2+ with fluorescent enhancement, and its fluorescent intensity increased with the advance of the concentration of Pb2+. So 5a would be used as a new fluorescent probe to recognize Pb2+ in aqueous solution.
