TiO2, because of its non-toxic, high activity, good stability, a strong antioxidant capacity, degradation completely, etc. and inexpensive, no secondary pollution, the long term use in thephoto catalytic degradation of waste water and air has been widely used, has become one of themost potential photo catalyst. At present, the use of inexpensive and simple craft preparationmethod for high-performance nano-titanium dioxide, is now the main objectives pursued bytoday’s industrialized preparation. Titanyl sulfate is the intermediate product of industrialproduction titanium dioxide. Because of its own advantages with widespread source, low price, prepares nano-titania with it, not only the cost is low, the handicraft is simple, but as long as thestrict control of technological conditions, the system can make small in size, narrow particlesize distribution, good dispersion of nano-titania. But there are many problems in thepreparation of TiO2such as easy introduction of other impurity ions, difficulties inpost-separation and recycling. This thesis focuses on a few issues about the preparation、modification and photocatalytic properties of the titanium dioxide. This thesis is divided intotwo parts.First, the composite powder of CaSO4/TiO2was prepared by using titanyl sulfate andcalcium oxide as raw material. The resulting samples were evaluated by degradation ofreactive scarlet under UV lamp. The result indicated that the powder was an excellent catalystin terms of energy efficiency and the environmental protection. XRD analysis showed that theTiO2in the composite powder is anatase. When the Ca(OH)2emulsion after the hightemperature digestion process was added to the TiOSO4solution, the photocatalyticperformance of the composite powder.Second, with attapulgite as the carrier and titanyl sulfate and calcium oxide as rawmaterial, the loaded composite powder of CaSO4/TiO2was prepared, Results showed that theoptimum conditions for preparation of the composite material were as follows: mass ratio ofATP to TiO2was1:4, and calcined temperature was500℃. The photocatalytic effect alsoincreases with the increasing reaction time, when the UV light exposure time is60min, therate of degradation can reached89.6%.
