Titanium alloys are extensively used in the aerospace industry. At present,theplastic forming of titanium alloy are many ways, such as the isothermal forging,extrusion, spinning and ring rolling.However, the above products forming methods havethe following disadvantages,such as long production period, low material yield and dieexpensive.This paper studies TC4alloy workpiece applied in the external duct of aeroengine cases.However, the current forming processes have low ratio of qualifiedproducts(below10%).So,we shall introduce a new molding process,it is extensivelyvalue of theory and apply as well as significant direction to product of industrialization.This paper has researched plastic deformation process by the rigid-plastic finiteelement numerical simulation and the theory of rolling forming. The FEM model ofTC4alloy with complex profile in hot rolling was established.According to designprinciple of the different profile rolling pass, the rolling program was simulated by thesingle billet with asymmetric rolling plan and double billet with symmetrical rollingplan,while considering to cut option with a single billet.According to simulation resultsof the effect of thermomechanical parameters with different rolling plan, it is obvious tochoose the symmetrical rolling plan.The billet shape and dimension were optimized byremoving four angles of billet as well as considered the effects of roller size on rollerbite and equipment capability.The billet was rolled in one symmetric pass with differentgauge under fulfilling specific conditions of promoting efficiency and cost savings,theexpected product was finally obtained by cutting one symmetric product.The rollingreduction rule respectively were29%,27%,34%in three passes of hot rolling.According to simulation results to complete the test by using roller of5CrNiMo materials, the simulation results and test results of dimension average error of the rolledwithin10%,the microstructure characteristic of rolled piece was excellent.Therefor,theaccuracy of the finite element numerical model was verified.
