Coal is the main energy fuel of our country, however, H2S and other sulfurcontaining compounds produced from the gasfication process of coal not only causethe corrosion of pipe equipments, but also do harm to the environment and the healthof human being if these pollutants are let to air and oxidized to SO2. Traditional drydesulfurization and wet desulfurization need to reduce the temperature of hot coal gasto room temperature and then heat to desired temperature for utilization, which leadsto the waste of heat. With the increasing attention on hot coal gas desulfurization, theresearch of self-supported mesoporous metal oixdes with high sulfur capacity is a newaspect. In our investigation, SBA-15was used as the hard template for the preparationof Mn and Ce mixed metal oxides with an atomic ratio of9:1through ethanolevaporation method. Desulfurization and regeneration were carried out at600oC and500oC6%O2/N2, respectively. The stability of the sorbents during desulfurization andregeneration cycles was also studied. Six sulfidation-regeneration results showed thatthe sorbents had good activity and stability.Methane is the main component of natural gas, which is plentiful in sources.Excess carbon dioxide is bad for the human beings and environment. Carbon dioxidereforming of methane can produce monoxide and hydrogen, which is meaningful forthe environment and energy adequate utilization. Ni based catalysts with La and Nimolar ratio of2:1,1:1and1:2were supported on mesoporous KIT-6and SBA-15.The influence of reaction temperature and different support on the activity of thecatalysts was also studied. The results showed that CH4and CO2conversion reached100%at800oC over La2NiO4/KIT-6. Because of the carbon elimination effect ofLa2O2CO3, deposited carbon was not the main reason that led to the deactivation ofthe catalyst.The characterization of sorbents and catalysts with XRD, TEM, SEM, BET,FT-IR and TG/DSC was also carried out at the same time.
