As a novel class of self-assembled materials, low weight molecular organic gelator(LMOG) gels organized in regular nanoarchitectures through specific non-covalentinteractions including hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic interaction, π-π interactions, and vander Waals forces have recently received considerable attention. Up to now, LMOGs havebecome one of the hot areas in soft matter research due to their scientific values and manypotential applications in wide fields, including nanomaterial templates, biosensors, controlled drug release, medical implants, and so on. In the paper, based on these points, the amide compounds in which hydrogen bonding is the main force were proposed. Theirgelation behaviors in different solvents were tested as novel low molecular mass organicgelators. Some luminol imide derivatives with different alkyl substituent chains have beensynthesized. Their gelation behaviors in various organic solvents can be regulated bychanging the length and number of alkyl substituent chains.Subsequently, their electrochemiluminescence properties have been measured with aview to developing new biosensors. The ECL response to hydrogen peroxide in thepresence of these luminescent derivatives has been investigated taking into account crucialfactors such as the applied potential value, injection volume of hydrogen peroxide, and thesubstituent groups in molecular structure.3,4,5-tris(alkyloxy)benzoic acid with different substituent chains such as the benzenesubstituent, the naphthalene substituent, the fluorene substituent and the anthracenesubstituent groups have been synthesized and their gelation behaviors in different solventswere tested. It was shown that the different kind of substituent chains linked to amidebond in gelators played a crucial role in the gelation behavior of all compounds in variousorganic solvents. Then the better performance gel and the better water-soluble drugmolecules Congo red (GC) were selected to study the diffusion behaviors of drugmolecule. The diffusion behaviors of drug molecules and the interaction between drugmolecules and supramolecular gel were studied in the supramolecular gels formed bymolecular structure, kinds of solvent, the temperature etc.
