Application Of N-heterocyclic Carbene In Nickel-catalyzed C-S Coupling Reaction And Activation Of CO₂

N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) have been the most heavily studied area ofreseacrch among the nucleophilic carbenes family till now. Due to the strong σ-donorand poor π-acceptor abilities, NHC are in good conditions in terms of the chemicalstability and coordination versatility, which allow NHC to coordinate with various kindsof metals ranging from alkaline-earth metals to rare-earth metals, and thus to change thecatalytic properties of transition metal salts to a larger extent.This thesis introduces a series of NHC salt synthesized by conventional methods,then is about the application of NHC to the C-S coupling and carbon dioxide activation,and finally is about the satisfying experimental results. The thesis is divided into fourparts:Part one is a general introduction, including the basis and significance of thisresearch, as well as the current researches at home and abroad. Besides, thedevelopment of C-S coupling reaction under M-NHC catalytic system will behighlighted.Part two mainly focuses on the synthesis of series NHC precursor. Our group havesnthesized several imidazoline salts from L-proline and some conventional laboratoryNHC salt according to certain literatures.Part three is about the condition optimization of Ni/NHC catalytic C-S couplingand the expansion of the substrate. Experimental results show that the choosing systemmaintains a high efficiency in catalytic C-S cross coupling, which can not only atalyze amajority of the aryl iodide and aryl bromide or corresponding proportion of the activedaryl chloride, but also contribute to an efficient rate of production.Part four mainly concerns how to use NHC to activate CO2, then letting CO2reactwith anthranilic nitrile for the sake of generating the compound of the quinazoline.
