Aromatic carboxylic ligands are rigid and their coordination modes are rich and varied, what’s more, aromatic rings of the ligand have conjugated effect, which is beneficial for theelectron to transfer when the complex formating. Aromatic carboxylate complexes are not onlynovel and specific for the structure, but also superior and unique for the properties, which makesthe carboxylic complexes been become chemistry researchers’ research hot spot.1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid is one of typical aromatic carboxylate ligands.Because of its twocarboxylic groups, The coordination modes of the ligand is diverser and complexstructures arealso diverser. So these complexes are applied in optical, magnetic, catalytic materials and gasadsorption materials and so on. As is known to all of us, template is also important to theconstruction of metal organic frameworks, which does not participate to coordinate with theligand, but affectes the structure of the complexes by weak intermolecular attraction. Byhydrothermal reaction rare earth carboxylate coordination polymers are been maked, whichare comprised of the appropriate template and1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as ligand.what’s more, the structure and the fluorescence and the magnetic properties of complexes arereached. The work of the thesis are as following. The first chapter is made of the introdution of the related literatural background, whichincludes the carboxylic coordination and rare earth complex characteristics and the templateselection. What’s more, the research significance and main conclusions of this thesis and the reachof the1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid are summarized. In the second chapter, the experimental condition in this study and experimental instrumentare introduced. The third chapter introduces the synthesis of the complexes and the study of the structure andproperties of. By solvent thermal method, the of eight complexes with bis(2,2’-biimidazole) astemplate and1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as ligand are successful synthesised. Thosecomplexes are [HBBI][Ln(NDC)2(H2O)]·H2O[Ln=La(1),Pr(2)] and [HBBI]2[Sm (NDC)2(H2O)]2·1/2H2O (3) and [HBBI][Ln(NDC)2(H2O)][Ln=Eu(4), Gd(5), Tb(6), Dy(7), Er(8)][Ln=lanthanide, H2NDC=1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, BBI=bis(2,2’-biimidazole)]. The IRspectra of complexes1-8are tested, what’s more, optical diffuse reflectance spectra andthermogravimetric analyses of these compounds are also described. It indicates that complex4strong fluorescent emissions by testing. At last, The variable-temperature magnetic properties of2–8have been investigated. The study also show those complexes have potential applications in thefieldsof magnetismand photochemistry. The fourth chapter also describes the synthesis and structure of complexes[Ln(HNDC)(NDC)(H2O)][Ln=Pr(9), Sm(10)], by hydrothermal reaction,1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as ligand, we synthesis two new complexes of rare earth metals, and those complexes are two-dimensional layered structure.
