Recently, a growing number of researchers had been attracted to the visible-lightphotocatalytic properties of Ag3PO4, which showd a high quantum yield for splittingwater to generate oxygen or degrading organic pollutants. The main findings in thisstudy were summarized as following:1. Ag3PO4micro-crystals with different morphologies were prepared by a facileliquid chemical method. The polyhedrons showed both the higher photocatalyticactivities and stabilities than spheres under visible-light irradiation in degrading RhB,which was attributed to their narrower band gaps and larger active surface energies.2. AgBr/Ag3PO4hybrids were synthesized by a facile method. The hybridsexhibited an enhanced photocatalytic performance for degrading RhB under thevisible-light illumination. Besides, we also investigated the effect of AgBr contents onthe recyclability of the hybrids, of which the best result was obtained in the samplescontaining50%of AgBr. Such a behavior might be attributed to the increased activesites and suitable energy band structure.3. Ag3PO4, Co3(PO4)2and their hybrids were synthesized via a facile chemicalprecipitation route for visible-light degradation of MO and RhB. It was found that thehybrids showed a better photocatalytic activity in MO degradation than pristineAg3PO4, while the opposite behavior appeared in RhB degradation.
