Mint lactone with special aroma is a kind of minor componet in the peppermintoil. Due to the rapid development of the essence in recent years, it involoved in foodand daily chemical plays a vital role on people’s daily life. Mint lactone as thesupplement of food and tobacco, has permeated all aspects of people. But at themoment, most researches on the synthesis of mint lactone are still at the laboratorystage. Those projects about the mint lactone industrial production, which have beenreported. On the one hand they have pollution to the environment, on the other hand,their steps are too long and post-processings are difficult.This research is based on the synthesis of mint lactone in spices. Throughexperiment, we investigates the charge ratio, reaction temperature, solvent, reactiontime and reaction conditions effect on productive rate and the optimization of thereaction conditions are found. On this basis, with the presence of palladium acetateand cuprous ion, catalyze the raw material mint furan, and then hydrolysis method tosynthesis the target product, and then optimize the reaction conditions, and finalizedCH2Cl2as solvent. the substrate raio of mint lactone, glacial acetic acid and aceticanhydride is1:14:5, catalyst dosage is3%, reactont temperature is55℃, the reactiontemperature is65-70℃, reaction time is5.5h, the target product yield is88.3%.Through the above research, we discusses the hydroxyl mint furan lactone asraw material to synthesis the dehydrogenation of mint furan lactone method.the method of synthesis the raw material mint furan is discussed, and optimize thesynthetic solution, using FeCl3instead of literature of epoxidation catalyst, usingCH2Cl2instead of the original solvent reported in literatures, substitute thiourea forsodium thiosulfate, eventually make synthetic reaction more economic andenvironmental protection.This study of mint lactone compounds synthesis of this kind of spices andindustrialization have certain contribution to dustrialization.
