With the continuous development of the steel industry, the production of strip is alsorising. Led people have more and more requirements of the strip’s quality. Nowadays,gauge, one indicators of strip quality, has matured. But development of shape automaticcontrol system is still not perfect. Because the shape automatic control system is limitedby rolling process and detection/control technology, this makes a big problem to improveshape quality. It is very difficult to complete the online shape control of thehigh-precision strip rolling control system because of the complexity of the rollingprocess. So the researches on the new model of high-precision control system are verynecessary.Fristly, in this paper, we studied the basic principles of sub-cooling roll controlsystem systematic.By analyzing the characteristicsthe of sub-cooling roll control system,we have established of a simpler and more efficient model of sub-cooling roll controlsystem. The model simplify the strongly coupled, nonlinear complex problems to asub-cooled single-variable, multi-loop problems. And greatly simplifies the design ofsub-cooling controller.Secondly, AI control method is widely applied in the our social production. Thefuzzy control theory is applied to the sub-cooling roll control system, through thesimulation show that the results of fuzzy control are better than the traditionalsub-cooling roll control system. And we made the frist step to apply the Cloud Model insub-cooling roll control system. The article shows us that Cloud Model is a bettersolution to the uncertainty and nonlinear control system.Finally, we use the MATLAB as a platform to simulate the sub-cooling roll controlsystem in1220mm four-roll cold rolling mill. And we choosed3different control methodPID, fuzzy PID and Self-adaptive control PID based on cloud model. Simulating resultsindicate that Self-adaptive control PID based on cloud model have stronger adjustmentcapability and anti-jamming capability. And the new model have a good steady-statecontrol with high control accuracy. So the Self-adaptive control PID based on cloud model is effective.
